MEDITATION GUIDE (8-Parts)
The mind is like a calm lake, its surface broken by ripples of thought-waves born from a myriad of desires. In order to see the Self which lies beneath, the light of consciousness behind the mind, one must first learn to still the ripples that distort the pure revelation of the Self. In meditation, one experiences the mind as it truly is, an instrument. Just by concentrating for a short period of time each day, we start to see how much movement exists in the mind and how little we are truly living in the present. From this brief encounter with a different mode of perception, you can learn to observe and thus change your way of thinking. Meditation (Dhyana) is a strengthening of one's will to control the mind and senses through concentration, a removal of ignorance by process of Negation (Neti-Neti) and a powerful Affirmation (Vichar) of one's essential and absolute reality as the Divine Self. Meditation, when properly guided and correctly understood, is the royal path, the greatest endeavor to pursue in life and the highest science of the Self.
